We extend a warm welcome to all children entering Corporate Toddlers. Corporate Toddlers has a history of providing quality child care and academic excellence, and we encourage all our children to continue on this path of excellence. We have a variety of extra-curricular activities that offer each child an opportunity to take part in one or more activities of his or her choosing. We look forward to working with the parents or guardians of our students. The Partnership of parents/guardians and teachers helps each child reach his/her potential. A complete listing of local policy is contained in the Policy Manual of Corporate toddlers.

MISSION STATEMENT

We are a learning community dedicated to the success of every Child.

The state of New Jersey has new immunization requirements for entrance into the Day Care Centers. Children entering kindergarten must have reached the age of 5 on or before August 15th of the current school year.

NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY

Corporate Toddlers does not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, color, religion, national origin, age or handicap in the provision of educational programs, activities, or opportunities.

SEXUAL HARASSMENT

This, and any, type of harassment will not be tolerated. Children/parent should report any incident of harassment to his/her teacher, Director, or Owner.

DISCIPLINE POLICY

Our philosophy regarding discipline at Corporate Toddlers is one of positive reinforcement.  We will never utilize any method that lowers a child’s self esteem or subjects him/her to any form of abusive treatment.  Our intent is to encourage desirable social behavior with both peers and staff members through praise, reward and by example.  Rest assured, each staff member is clearly instructed on exactly how to implement our policy.

At Corporate Toddlers, we use a SIT and WATCH form of discipline for any disruptions or aggressions that interfere with other children’s play.  When a child misbehaves a teacher will do the following:

Remain calm and talk in a friendly voice. Describe the incorrect and correct behavior. Ask the child to sit on the periphery of play and watch the others. After 15 or 30 seconds, the child will be invited to return and the teacher will describe the expected behavior. The teacher will try to get a response indicating the child understands. When to use SIT and WATCH:

A child shows mild physical or verbal aggression toward other children or adults. Takes toys out of the hand of another child. Makes dangerous or destructive use of toys. Acts dangerously or destructively toward center property. Takes a toy out of its area. Screams or shouts at a quiet time. For severe misbehavior the “Time-Out” chair will be used when a child physically hurts another child by:

Biting Pinching or scratching Hitting with an object The teacher will do the following for severe misbehavior:

Take the child immediately to the “Time-Out” chair. Explain that what they did hurts and they should treat their friends gently. Leave the child for 30 seconds to a minute. The teacher will return to the child and try to get a response to how to treat other children.  The child returns to play. The teacher should wait a minute or two and compliment the child for playing peacefully with others.  Praise really makes a difference! When the above procedures fail to calm the child or produce the desired results, the child is removed from the classroom environment and placed under the care of our Director, our Nurse or the person monitoring the front entrance to our facility (usually the owner).  The duration of this care depends on the child’s age and emotional state.  We will never subject any child to an unreasonable amount of time away from his or her peers.

POSITIVE DISCIPLINE TECHNIQUES

Let children know what you expect.    Redirect.    Have positive expectations.    Give a warning.    Stay simple.    Turn the problem into a game.    Let child air their feelings.    Be flexible.    Help children take responsibility.    Count.    Use role reversal.    Notice effort and improvement.    Appreciate and acknowledge good behavior.

VISITORS

When visiting the Day Care. please park in a designated parking spot. All visitors are required to report to the front desk or teacher at the door when entering the center, sign a logbook. The faculty and administration welcomes the opportunity to meet with you and discuss your concerns. Please schedule a time to meet with your child’s teacher after class so this does not interrupt instructional time. If a parent needs to give his/her child a message, they can always reach the teacher directly through BrightWheel App or School phone numbers.

SCHOOL DELIVERIES

Our school opens for students at 6:30 am and children should NOT arrive before this time. Parents should always hand-over the child to teacher at the front door and checkin through BrightWheel App. Children should enter through the front of the building. Parents are asked to report to the office and make arrangements to visit classrooms. Safety is our primary concern. Please use caution and do not exceed the 5 mph speed limit while on childcare vicinity in parking lot. Cell phones usage while driving is prohibited by a new state law. Violations are subject to citation by law enforcement officers. Please do not drop children off in front of the play area; this is a safety concern. The school day is over at 5:00 p.m. Children must be picked up by 5:00 pm.

SIGN – OUT

When it becomes necessary for a child to leave during the course of the day, he/she must be signed out in the BrightWheel App by the parent, guardian, or parent designee.

No child is to leave center for any reason at any time unless he/she has been properly signed out. The individual signing the student out is to report to the class teacher. Only persons who are parents or family members listed in child’s file will be allowed to sign the child out.

For the safety of our students proof of identity will be required if school personnel are not acquainted with you. Please have a photo ID.

DROP OFF

Due to safety concerns, children drop off will not be allowed before 6:30 a.m. Please be advised that if your child is dropped off before the door opens, you may receive a phone call from the local law enforcement agencies. A lane in front of the building is available for parents to pull forward and drop off children. Beginning at 7:00 am, an employee will assist your child to exit the car and enter the building since this is a high traffic time for drop off. Parents who wish to park and not get in line will need to walk their child to the door. Children do not need to be released in the parking lot to enter the building unescorted due to high volumes of morning traffic. The drop off line moves efficiently if children are prepared to exit when they reach the front of the line. Please be courteous to other drivers by pulling in and parking if you are not prepared to immediately release your child to enter the building when at the front of the drop off line. Please do not pull up and release your child on the opposite side of the building. Phone calls from the Director or school administration may be placed if this safety violation is observed. We would like to ask drivers to observe the school zone speed limits as they leave the center. Cell phones usage while driving is prohibited by a new state law. Violations are subject to citation by law enforcement officers.
